The study contains basic statistical data in the field of: demography, labour market, environmental protection, health care, education, culture, tourism as well as housing construction and municipal infrastructure for powiats and cities with powiat status in the years 2018-2022. The statistical material presented in a tabular form in an Excel file is supplemented by methodological notes containing a explanation of basic concepts as well as analytical commentary enriched with a graphical presentation of data in the form of charts and maps.

The brochure presents a set of statistical information about the Górnośląsko-Zagłębiowska Metropolis in the years 2020–2022. Detailed statistics data included in the folder were presented within thematic blocks, which allows to observe internal diversity of selected phenomena occurring in the Metropolis area. In current edition of the folder, a thematic block has been added regarding Development Strategy of the Gornośląsko-Zagłębiowska Metropolis for 2022–2027 with an outlook to 2035, covering the activity priorities of the Metropolis and basic indicators monitoring the Strategy. The publication has been enriched with a graphic part in the form of maps and charts. W każdym dziale zamieszczono jednolite przekrojowo zestawienia tabelaryczne, prezentujące dane statystyczne i wskaźniki dla województwa oraz obszaru GZM. Uzupełnienie części analitycznej opracowania stanowią tablice tematyczne, ukazujące zróżnicowanie wewnętrzne aglomeracji. Kilkuletnia retrospekcja przyjęta w tablicy przeglądowej pozwala zaobserwować dynamikę i kierunki zachodzących zmian. Materiał wzbogacono częścią graficzną w postaci map i wykresów. Dla celów porównawczych Górnośląski Związek Metropolitalny zaprezentowano również na tle innych obszarów metropolitalnych w Polsce.
