This publication provides a comprehensive insight into the diversity of social and environmental aspects of the region. The Atlas features the latest statistical data derived from various sources, including reporting systems, experimental research, and information systems made available to the public statistics by external providers. It also draws on the latest National Population and Housing Census (2021) data and provides spatial and temporal analysis of, and interpretation based on, the aforementioned data.

The study utilises cartograms, cartodiagrams and numerous charts to present issues related to demography and the impact of socio-cultural changes on the structure, development and lifestyle of contemporary society. These issues, relating to various aspects of life such as education, work, health, housing and the environment, reflect the population’s standard of and quality of living.
