The analytical publication has been prepared for the purposes of the National Strategy for Regional Development 2030. It includes an analysis of phenomena related to the monitoring of environmental risks, demographic processes, determinants of the development of human and social capital, the economy, infrastructure, and the administrative capacity of local government units.

The publication comprises an executive summary and an analytical commentary containing statistical data for the years 2015–2025, presented in tabular and graphical form (including maps and charts). To provide a more comprehensive illustration of territorial variation, selected statistical information is presented at the level of powiats and gminas. An important part of the Report is also formed by summary tables containing selected data on Śląskie Voivodship and Katowice for the years 2015–2025, as well as on cities with powiat status for the most recent available year.

In this year’s edition of the publication, selected information on Strategic Intervention Areas (OSI) is once again presented in the form of an Annex. These areas are defined in the National Strategy for Regional Development 2030 as areas (gminas) at risk of permanent marginalisation and cities losing their socio-economic functions, for which dedicated development support instruments are in place.
